XBMC supports formats MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, XviD, MP3, AAC, JPG, GIF, etc., and also plays CDs CD / DVD (the latter can be read as the captured files from your hard disk).

XBMC is running and streaming media content, broadcasting on a local network or Internet. It is possible to view the video directly from the server without downloading.

VDR plugin for XBMC allows you to receive a list of available channels to watch "live" TV, the timer to record, to get EPG for the channel selected.

Plays all that is possible in full screen, a built-in two-pane file manager, photo viewing! XBMC can be extended to obtain from the Internet and various other information - weather forecasts, visualization systems, etc.

Among the scripts / extensions is a simple plug-ins for services, and fairly complex applications such as e-mail client, a variety of games.
